  • The purpose of school is to educate. Kids must pay attention to learn. Cell phones are a distraction.

  • Use android phones

  • Aloud? No. Allowed? Yes, but quietly.

  • No, kids using their phones as a "reference" will turn into them texting and even using their phones to Google all the answers they need. They won't learn anything this way. Although, that is something I would try to do while working on something in class, school is for us to learn. Not for us to use Google to do our work for us.

  • iPhones serve as a distraction to not only the student with it but also tho the hardworking students around them.

  • No, students (either grade-school or college) have not needed to before the dawn of the cell phone, however, we see with the increase of cell phone usage in school, a correlated decrease in school performance, let alone the US graduation rate (which is apparently one of the worst in the world). I would say yes if 3/4G was blocked, and wifi ran though the school, whereupon crap like Facebook or instagram and the like were blocked, and Youtube would only be on 'kid' mode, then yes, I would agree wholeheartedly.

  • It can cause distractions... they will start to think the virtual life is even more better. Their socialising skills with the real world will decrease.

  • No. You are given all the references you require. Part of the school experience is gauging whether or not you can effectively use what tools you are given. The same tools are given to each student as a constant. Its science people ...

But what if there was a fire wall that wouldn't let kids use popular social media or games? Think about that.

They can still use gaming apps, firewall or no firewall. Also, most smartphones can access the internet through cell service, not WiFi.

"Aloud" Somebody needs to just be paying better attention in school as a whole.

You mean you're getting less opportunity and access to references than the student next to you? Where is this happening?

No, they are encouraging us to problem solve by integrating technology in our school.
