  • Sorry, I meant banned from debating.

  • Actually, yes. After the tempban, they'll learn not to FF, so we get a more active member, and they get more ELO. Win-win! (Unless you're a noob-sniper)

  • Talk about discrimination

  • If that policy was established then I would have been perma-banned by now

  • No, but people who plagiarize should be banned PERMANENTLY.

  • Not in the least. Banning exists for a violation of rules. Forfeiting rounds is not a violation of rules, just misconduct. Moreover, external factors are often the reason for forfeits, things that can't be realistically avoided. Banning users for this reason is discriminatory to external factors that don't exist within the sphere of the site, or debate itself.

  • People who forfeit frequently are probably people who just joined the site, took their first debate, lost interest, and are never going to come back online.

Sorry, I forgot to add a part. Banned from debating.

UtherPenguin: And that's a problem because...?
tajshar2k says2015-05-21T19:31:38.0438695-05:00
Seriously though, I hate when I want to have a serious debate, and some fool accepts and never comes online ever again.

That's when you make your debate closed and handpick your opponent. You could also set a limit so your opponent has to have completed a certain amount of debates or is ranked higher than you.

@Varrack How is that discrimination?
tajshar2k says2015-05-21T19:35:32.5515620-05:00
Yeah, but the thing is, when I did that, nobody wanted to debate the topic.
Varrack says2015-05-21T19:38:44.4428838-05:00
It's discrimination because....It fits the definition I think. Idk I'm using this poll to distract myself from homework :)
tajshar2k says2015-05-21T19:39:58.3187786-05:00
Ya, I do that alot too. I have no homework today (4th time this year).
UtherPenguin says2015-05-21T19:42:07.8463007-05:00
@PetersSmith Well, how could I ruin DDO if I'm too busy getting banned?
Varrack says2015-05-21T20:15:25.7843479-05:00
Wow I'm jealous. Had no school today because my teachers are protesting the state wage laws. And I'm skipping tomorrow for vacation, and have nothing for memorial day. But I still have HW :(
tajshar2k says2015-05-21T20:17:04.0456681-05:00
Wow, I remember when the teachers were striking in Chicago a few years back, it was illegal to give homework to kids.

Lol Varrack, teachers are protesting here in Ontario as well, have been for around 3 weeks now.
Varrack says2015-05-22T11:06:55.9506414-05:00
Interesting, I didn't think there were a protests in other areas of the world too on this same issue. I doubt either of you have gotten to miss school because of it though.
Midnight1131 says2015-05-22T11:09:12.3434995-05:00
Actually, the strike pretty much ruined this semester. I've been off school for 3 weeks and counting, and there's only 4 weeks of school left. So if I go back, it'll just be everyone trying to cram in the rest of the curriculum before exams start.
Varrack says2015-05-22T11:33:10.2417963-05:00
3 weeks off? That's crazy. They should at least let you in for some amount of time.

Totally! It is not fair to the opponent
