  • It's savage

  • so we can avoid doing school work

  • Phones are needed in many cases. I do not think they're always needed though.

  • Phones help a large amount. Yes, of course, there will always be those who abuse those privileges of having a phone at use to your exposal, but my phone has helped me through a lot. Because I didn't have the availability of having a laptop, my phone helped me do small research at school. Half the time I was there, the school computers were often not working or we weren't allowed to them. So, I had my phone. Teachers tend to blow this whole "not paying attention" thing out of proportion in regards to the use of a cellphone. Barely ever did I see a student use their phone for a game right in the middle of a lesson. And if there ever was, the student wouldn't stay long enough to pull up an app before being dismissed to the Principles office. If the teacher actually made sense to the child and was willing to help them, they would always listen. However, that begins to change once a teacher is failing to help all students understand. I mean, if they can't understand what the teacher is saying, what's the difference of going on their phone since they don't understand anyway? It's "I don't understand" = "I don't understand so I'm going to do something else instead of stress out about yet another thing". This is why I think the focus should be more on the learning/teaching experience and not blamed on the students' technology.

  • When kids are finished with all work they can go on there phones. Some districts have iPad for each student but we could cut lots of costs if they could use there phone.

  • Phones should be definitely allowed at school, they're very much needed at times & I totally understand it because phones aren't around in my school. & For those saying phones can be a 'distraction', for that rules can be made like submitting cell phones to the teacher before class & taking it afterwards or stitching them off during classes. Phones are basic necessity today & one should always carry it with them, there can be cases such as mental harassment at school not only by students but by teachers too and in that case teachers don't let student use their phones or the phones in the offices (It has happened) at times like that the student needs it, so students should be allowed to bring phones in the school.

  • Kids should be allowed to have phones in school, at the end of the day, it's up to them if they want to succeed in high school. Some can multitask, and kids can easily not pay attention to class when all their thinking about is wanting to check their phones. Their future depends on how high school is for them, so leave it up to them.

  • They should not be out at all times, but they should be allowed for when the students have free time, like lunch.

  • Yes, in a society that we live in today we have sinked into something called the global village

  • Phones should be allowed in school/classes for more resources and help. In case of an emergency students will be able to be contacted.

  • Phones should be allowed in schools the reasons why they should be allowed are because they provide us with help on assignments when technology at school is failing. It can also help keep track of anything going on at school with remainders as we go with the school year anyways now in days everyone or mostly a lot of people always carry their phones.

  • The usage of phones should be allowed in schools because it allows access to internet. For example, When students are researching for projects in core classes that can have an effect on their grades, It's necessary to know factual evidence, In order to prevent plagiarism. This is important because in college and life you are expected to be held at a standard and should not lie or falsify the truth.

  • Phones should be allowed in school because we would have it in case of an emergency or to ask parents to bring things to you and if you don't have a laptop you could use it to do research or when there are not enough laptops for every one and they could be used when students have independent practice for them to concentrate and stay silent while listening to music.

  • Phones should be allowed in school. In case of an emergency students are able to be contaced easily. Phones shouldn't be allowed to be used during class because they might cause distraction but during free time or passing periods students should be able to use them. Students should be able to use them in class only for projects in order to have access to more information.

  • Phones should be allowed during school not just in case of emergency but also to use it for school work. Also many students need it after school in order to communicate with their parents.

  • Phones should be allowed in schools for many different reasons. One of the most crucial reasons would be for safety, Especially when you consider current events that are happening in schools today. If anything were to happen, Such as a family emergency or a possible school shooting, Students must be able to use their phones to either call their parents or alert the authorities. Phones could also be used as a key tool to help out students in class. If the school provides technology and it isn't working quite well, Students could simply whip out their phones and do easily complete their tasks.

  • Phones should be allowed in school because they are a handheld device that allows quick access to the internet and this would make everyday tasks in classes that require internet use easier

  • I believe that phones should be allowed because many students need them for many ocassions

  • phones can be a distraction. i keep seeing people on their phones and not listening to the teacher. and they ain't doing anything important they just are texting or playing games. and then they don't learn anything. there where some kids graduating collage and they all had a party on a beach and the news interviewed them and they asked them simple questions like...who was the first president of the united states, what is 10 x 10, what was the war of 1812, when was the war of 1812, when was the revolutionary war, why was there a revolutionary war, when was the civil war, why was there a civil war, and more but here is the thing...they all got them WRONG. all of those EASY questions i can answer them all... George Washington, 100, it was when the star spangled banner was written, 1812, 1775-1783, taxes and freedom

  • You are in school to get an education. A phone is considered a distraction. If you want to talk to someone wait until lunch than you can speak to your friends all you want.

  • I don't think that phones should be allowed. They are just a mere distraction. More than utilising it's true potential they are used only for social media purpose. Without them child will not only concentrate on his/her grades but also be able to focus on extra curricular activities for overall growth and development.

  • It will kill learning time and will destroy children's imagination.

  • Because no matter how many technology priviliges you give students, They'll abuse that power and soon other kids will follow and it would defeat the purpose of using a cellphone in school.

Phones are making studying in school less beneficial. They distract students from the main goal of school: learning. Sure, students can use their phones to look for information, but this is usually just a bad thing because it makes students think less on their own. Using a phone to find answers for questions can lead to an unrealistic view of one's own skills. This can be very harmful to student's later studies. School is a great place to practice social interactions too, and phones are making everyone less social and therefore disturbing the development of students' social skills. Forbidding the use of phones in school would make school more beneficial in many ways.

Connor-Arno-MS-KG-AD Those students who cannot answer at least one of those questions are not not informed of the answers because of their phones, they just didn't use their brains. The entire "when was the war of 1812" question just proves that. It doesn't take a teacher to understand when that was. So that makes me wonder which other questions you possibly lied about. Not to mention, how you would know these test answers of these people. Or how they would even have their phone OUT during a test.

Phones should not be allowed in school because it creates a distraction that impedes students for learning. Students claim that phones are used to help them but actually they use phone to be distracted in class. Students usually go on Instagram or just be on social media being distracted. Then so many students don't get to learn.

Phones should be allowed in schools, The reasons why they should be allowed is because we are able to use our phones to research any topic or course that we might be confused about, Not having to ask the teacher and take away time from others when you can find it easily in the phone.

Phones should be allowed in school because students should be allowed to call their parents in case of an emergency. Also, It is easy access to the internet, Or resources that students may use when needed, Instead of having computers we have phones with easy access.

Phones should not be allowed in school because giving a privilege some people take advantage of it. Instead of paying attention and focusing on class, It is a distraction to students. Another reason would be that it is easier for cyberbullying, Anybody can just take out their phones and start recording an incident. Student also tend to just look for the answers off the internet and copying instead of trying to figure it out on their own.
