If facts are not enough—clearly, it’s not—the economic benefits of these programs are what should earn them high praise from conservatives. In a Guttmacher Institute study of women seeking contraceptive care at publicly funded clinics, 63 percent of women reported birth control had allowed them to take better care of themselves or their families, and 56 percent said it allowed them to take care of themselves financially. Half reported that it helped them stay in school and complete their education and that it helped them get or keep a job and advance their careers. In a recent poll, 72 percent of Pennsylvania voters said a woman's ability to control the timing and size of her family impacts her financial stability, and 62 percent believed that laws that made abortion harder to access can negatively impact a woman's financial security. Polls of voters in New York and Virginia showed similar results.
Regardless what any rational person says about Planned Parenthood, the right have morphed it into a icon for their base. I went a number of rounds about the videos with several people, they are very willing to "read in" whatever they like to the footage.
Yeah but these programs are making it so babies your kids die without any say. No matter how you make it look it is no better then murder. Now please start wording your polls so they are not basis, because as of now I see you as an troll.
You're willing to kill innocent people for economic benefits? I like you.
So far none of the investigations have turned up anything.
@stargate Abortions are only 3% of what Planned Parenthood does. Think it through. And they say the left is emotional... Talk about self projection. Which side tends to go on mass shootings again?

@komododragon8 Yeah, that's old news.
Reece: But it's still relevant as it means that planned parenthood cant be defunded for that reason.
@komododragon8 You think facts will hinder CONservatives.
Reece: lol I see what your getting at and I agree that many in the pro-life crowd are only interested in flat out banning abortion but maybe it will have some affect in the upcoming hearings.
@komododragon8 In previous hearings they didn't even let Planned Parenthood defend themselves, they weren't invited.
Pro-life has been very successful at "chipping away" at providers. This has been the only way they get anywhere. The latest, these videos, is proving to be - again successful. It has a bunch of people, regardless of the actual content, reacting emotionally. I have yet to see anyone point to anywhere in the videos other than points that have shock value. Point is, it has already worked.
@reece You do know that we are not all devils, there have been people anti guns taht do thing just as bad as the things they say not to do. Also those people are criminals, what you are doing there is judgeing all of us based on the actions of the few.
Who are criminals? Can you try that post again, and slow down just a touch. It makes no sense
I wish we can flat out ban it, but it will take time my good friends. Just wait, all we need to do is slowly turn public opinion against them, along with slowly but steadily removing the founds they receive from the government.
@TBR "Who are criminals? Can you try that post again, and slow down just a touch. It makes no sense" Well reece said who do you think goes on mass shootings. So I responded with criminals because that is what they do, that and the insane. While I do belive abortion should be illegal, I am realistic, most likely right now that will never happen nationwide. Dose this answer your question?
@stargate read what i said again.
It was a rhetorical question with an obvious answer.
Okay, but that is not the only reason why I am against it.
"You're willing to kill innocent people for economic benefits? I like you." Thats basically Republicans when it comes to Iraq.
Um no it isn't the dictator there was murdering his own people and threatening the stability of the middle east.
Actually, when you're adherent to an ideology that says "kill everyone that isn't us", you aren't innocent anymore. Hence, *BADDA-BADDA-BOOM!*
Stargate I do not believe you understand the pos. It is not biased. It is a straightforward question out of the current news. The Conservative wing is planning to defund Planned Parenthood under the LIE that they are primarily abortionist which is a lie. Hey plan to defund Planned Parenthood due to the sale of fetal tissue which is a lie, Dr. Ben carson uses fetal tissue. And I know from experience no babies are born fully in tact. And there are standards in which the tissue must be handled and no non medical personal handles the tissue lie on these infamous tapes.
I meant it as an joke. But it is not an lie.
@stargate - The general assessment from the right regarding the tapes is apocryphal. They have read in things that simply aren't there. So... Yes. Lies.
@chandlerrouse -- What lies are you talking about?
@chandlerrouse -- First off, yes they are trying to defund planned parenthood...With the stipulation that every cent of their funding goes to the other 500 medical centers doing everything that Planned Parenthood does. Next, have you actually seen the FULL tapes? They have all of the higher ups ON VIDEO admitting they change their abortion techniques in order to preserve as complete a specimen as possible, or at minimum preserve the most lucrative parts. Third, Ben Carson DID do research on 2 specimens in 1992 which were PROPERLY collected and preserved, NOT BOUGHT OR SOLD. Additionally, since those 2 in 1992, he has not participated in any research. NOWHERE does it state in his published findings (co-authored publication) that he used any specimens for anything outside of pure research...LEGAL research. Fourth, YOU know for a FACT that no babies are born intact? Really? Kermit Gosnell, heard of him? Partial Birth Abortion...Ever heard of it? There's a reason the U.S. currently has a ban on Partial Birth Abortions. So you know NOTHING for ANY fact.
@Chandlerrouse -- I wanted to put this one on a separate line just to make sure you read it since you seem to like fabricated "facts". Here are some REAL FACTS for you according to the Orlando Women's Center, a center that performs ALL the same services as Planned Parenthood: 46% of women who have had an abortion report (that's SELF REPORT || The patient openly admitting) they were NOT using any means of contraceptives; including "the pill", male condoms, female condoms, diaphragms, implants, cervical caps, contraceptive sponges, spermicides, etc. 46% FORTY-SIX PERCENT. Out of the 54% of patients having an abortion and reporting they WERE using at least one form of contraceptive, 76% of pill users and 49% of condom users reported using their method(s) inconsistently...In other words, not using a condom EVERY time or not taking their pill as prescribed. Out of ALL abortions performed, only 7% of patients reported using their form(s) of contraceptive(s) consistently and correctly. Without even assuming the average of 33% of these "correct users" as lying, and without taking into account the additional average of 40% of patients reporting using condoms "correctly" while leaving out the fact that they started intercourse without one and put it on later; that's STILL 7% of abortion patients REPORTING using contraceptives correctly. So in 93% of abortion cases, who is REALLY at fault? Should tax payers be held accountable for 93% of patients having NO self control, no discipline and NO judgement? 93% of abortion patients NOT thinking about their educational future, financial situations, ability to care for a child, age, etc. At what point do we as people, as individuals each with our own problems and responsibilities, stop worrying about their laziness and hold these females as well as their male partners accountable for their own stupidity?
