Should politicians that make less than pleasant or acceptable comments stand by their comments instead of saying I'm sorry then saying something similar in future and have everybody act shocked at what they said?

Politicians (most republicans) say something and then all the republicans are like "yeah!" and everybody else goes "NO!" and condemns it then they say sorry. It shows the lack of genie care for their "morals".

That's my point. Like I'd have some respect even if it was so putrid in what they said, as long as they actually stood by it. Democrats do it too but it's more often reps (in my opinion) doing this; it really shows that the people we're voting for really will change their ideology and do whatever they can (including abandoning their views) just to get elected and stay alive in the political arena.
