  • After Thatcher I can't trust a women in politics, too many points to prove.

  • They belong in the kitchens, and cleaning the house.

  • Not necessarily, there should be more honest politicians that don't extort people or businesses. There should be more competent politicians that care about their constituents more than their reelection or donations.

  • We shouldent enforce bias and quotas based on gender. We need more good politicians in goverment, regardless of sex

  • Women are represented by the people they elect. They are also the largest voting block, thus almost every candidate will technically represent women. Making the candidates female will not alter the amount women are represented. That being said there is probable zero representation of the will of the people in government anyway. Solve that first.

  • There shouldn't be more women involved in politics for the same reason there shouldn't be more men in politics. Because gender makes no difference so there doesn't need to be more of anyone necessarily because of their gender, race, ethnicity, penis size, religion, etc.

It shouldn't really matter. People should be judged on their performance not their gender. If the women does a pretty bad job, I would say no.

I think the point is that women should stop being discouraged from going into politics, not that your gender should be most important.

My answer was funny on the dismay of certain groups of people.

Stefy, how does having barley help? Just kidding.

"They belong in the kitchens, and cleaning the house." Didn't you mean, they belong in the bedroom, kitchens, and cleaning the house?

I don't think yes or no either way. If there is a good woman running that's better than a man, vote for them. If not, don't. Just vote for whoever is best. I don't think we should just say any group should or should not because they are in a group. (basically what tajshar2k said)

Being rather anti pc, I disagree. They are out to prove a point in a male dominated sector and politics is a place that that is dangerous. Another issue is that a lot of countries leaders just won't take women seriously, or worse see them and their country as weak.
mwedwards says2015-07-26T21:18:49.4850248-05:00
If you are suggesting that we should not have more women in just because they are women, that is something that holds the country back. I believe that there are probably several women who would be extremely capable of running the country as well if not better than several of our male representatives. To hold back that talent would not be to the benefit of the country.

@Kreakin The South Korean president seems to be doing a good job, and she's a woman. They have a rapid growing economy and she seems to be running the country good.

Running the country "well".

@58539672 Sorry, that's what I meant.

South Korea is the most developed country in Asia (just slightly more compared to Japan), so I don't see why a woman can't do well in politics.

I only judge by experience & nothing else.
Kreakin says2015-07-27T11:54:43.9536034-05:00
South Korea does what America says so best to have a woman in power there.
Kreakin says2015-07-27T11:55:40.2749649-05:00
Women are mostly power crazed, haven't you noticed..
triangle.128k says2015-07-27T12:13:29.4666109-05:00
Not really, US doesn't command South Korea. They just help them since they're allies. South Korea like I said is the most developed asian country, so I don't see how she's doing a bad job running South Korea.

http://www.bbc.co.uk/news/world-asia-20787271 Her father seized power and now she has it. She bought the South nearly to the point of war with the North, read the link. She is not so ideal.

Allegations that some staff at South Korea's spy agency interfered in Ms Park's favour in last year's presidential election by posting online comments criticizing her election rival have also dominated her first year in office.

There should be more politicians that listen to the people and their consistent ideology rather than lobbyists and special interests. If some of those are women, great.
