Second Haroush's comment. All law enforcement, regardless of race, need to meet predetermined criteria, education, etc. Anything less invites incompetence and/or corruption. This especially applies to political authorities over the police force. The best police officers around are useless if their hands are tied by incompetent and corrupt politicians.
When choosing police officers, race should not be one of the things taken into consideration. I'm not against "diversity" in the police force, but what, exactly, we're voting on here hasn't been made clear either.
That would be racist.
