Like I said before, we were better off with Bush's foreign policy in Iraq. You can't talk to barbarians... You kidding me people? Do you all realize how much of an economic threat this is to the United States... You think things are bad now just wait until the brainiac majority here gets their wishes of "peace". What a joke.
Please explain to us how this will economically hurt us. The only joke here was the whole Iraq war. Only idiots supported the war in the beginning, and you don't even want to know what that makes people who want to continue to war today.
It's not just about war, it's about United States international interests and our economic stability. And why do you think this will hurt us??? The oil in Baghdad maybe? Think about it. It's not like we are energy independent. Not to mention the the other reasons I already mentioned in my comment with my vote. Come on smart man explain to us how it will not hurt us economically?
The US imports around 1-2 billions dollars worth of oil from Iraq a year. The United States spent around 70 billion dollars a year fighting in Iraq. Do the math, smart one. It is pointless and stupid to go back in Iraq, and will just prove to the world that Americans are morons. Going back to Iraq will be such a waste of money, and lives, that you might as well burn it instead. Better to spend that "extra" money on funding for clean and reusable energy, than going back to that hell hole.
That isn't even that much money in terms of the world economy. Obama had already spent more money than Bush did in his 8 years of office compared to the first four years of Obama's. That is sad. So, the war wasn't really ever that expensive. Not to mention, it prevents world war from happening by baby sitting in the Middle East. Iran isn't even helping fight these terrorist, you kidding me? You are apparent "smart one" buddy.
70 billion isn't a lot in terms of world economy? Wow, I can't even. But at least I can still odd. Anyway, what does Obama spending more than Bush have to do anything? Like really? Why even bring it up? Stop trying to defend your boyfriend in every subject. Also the reason Obama "spent" more is because he had to fix everything Bush messed up. Fixing stuff costs more money than breaking stuff. How would it prevent world war? What countries will start a world war? Also can you read? I clearly agreed that Iran was fighting the terrorists. Please learn to read, "smart one".
He didn't have to fix anything Bush did except for maybe not paying attention to Bill Clinton's errors in Barney Frank and Freddy Mac. That I can say is part of Bush's fault, but the biggest contributor to the housing crisis was Bill Clinton, not George W. Bush.
I do agree debate power, our government as a whole could be doing A LOT better on domestic economic issues. You are absolutely right about that. Though do remember, urgent foreign affairs issues such as "Iraq" should be held at high importance because of it's significance in relation to maintaining a stable world economy. Please do remember this above all, we have been competing for a long while in a GLOBAL economy now. This means what ever happens to one country will affect the rest of us NOW.
You say it will hurt us economically not to, but I say it will hurt us economically to. We spent about 6 trillion dollars in Iraq and Afghanistan, excluding the top 10 countries in the world, that's higher than the GDP of any country! Think of what all that taxpayer money could've gone to, instead of this pointless war based on lies, and now your saying we should go back!
@light, Correction, it was closer to around 5 trillion dollars. By the way, it is true you do have to spend in order save and create money. Therefore debt is inevitable. It is more so about spending the least you can while having the ability to get a job done adequately. At the same time our profit is important. This is why education and baseline jobs are so important in today's economy domestically. Ironically, here in Maryland, jobs creation is doing better in districts controlled by Republicans. To be specific, these districts tend to be in southern MD.
Well, believe it or not I.S.I.S just got a hold of the chemical weapons stock pile that was being held in Iraq. Which is weapons of mass destruction. So, the war on Iraq was based on lies alright. Do you believe 9/11 was an inside job? By the way, the leader of I.S.I.S is Saddam Hussein's son in law. And guess what? Now other countries are taking the lead in this international crisis. Do you know what that means? America is losing it's mojo. Think about that.
Hahahahahah. You know the only chem weapons sadam had? Cold war era junk that was damaged and useless. Isis has that. We were supposed to find a large operation producing new chemical weapons and makes uranium for weapons. We were supposed to find lots and lots of yellow cake. We didnt find anything like that, it was all bs. Did we technically find wmd's? Yes, not that the ones we found were usable. Were they what we were looking for? No. Because what we were supposed to find simply didnt exist.
And letting someone else settle crap that isnt our problem doesnt mean we are losing our mojo. We have mojo as long as we have the biggest d@mn army in the whole world, no one is going to mess with us anytime soon. Iraq should never have been invaded and there is no reason to stay or go back.
So, where is your hard evidence numberwang? Also, we don't have the largest army or military for that matter by far.
We have greater nuclear capability, but I'd imagine if another war to break out we wouldn't be using nuclear weapons, but more so laser guns. I say this because laser weapons have already been developed and are in use. By the way, the greatest army by numbers is China. The U.S. is second and India is third. North Korea fourth. Russia is fifth. Now all you have to do is consider how U.S. is viewed in foreign affairs by other countries and it spells nothing but trouble for us. Either way you look at it, if we aren't taking the lead in foreign affairs we are going to lose more and more U.S. national interest in foreign affairs which wouldn't be good for America in a WORLD ECONOMY.
