  • Socialism only liberates those who can/will not produce for themselves. If you earn your own money, socialism will take your right to use that money. It will also take the money.

  • While, from a moral viewpoint, I prefer socialism to capitalism or communism, I'm not sure how it would liberate anything or anyone...

  • Paying for anything (socialist programs) you dont want because enough others wanted it at a lower price is the opposite of liberation.

  • What exactly is liberating about a government taking your money and giving it to someone else?

  • WRONG!

Stalinism, Maoism, National Socialism, and Social Democracy don't count as socialism, so no.

"The inherent vice of capitalism is the unequal sharing of blessings. The inherent virtue of Socialism is the equal sharing of miseries.." -Winston Churchill, 1945

“I am convinced there is only one way to eliminate these grave evils [capitalism], namely through the establishment of a socialist economy, accompanied by an educational system which would be oriented toward social goals. In such an economy, the means of production are owned by society itself and are utilized in a planned fashion. A planned economy, which adjusts production to the needs of the community, would distribute the work to be done among all those able to work and would guarantee a livelihood to every man, woman, and child. The education of the individual, in addition to promoting his own innate abilities, would attempt to develop in him a sense of responsibility for his fellow men in place of the glorification of power and success in our present society.” -Albert Einstein

@TheOpinionist Sharing at all then sends fairly evil. Maybe we should all just keep our hands in our own pockets. Works out well for both sides.

"The goal of socialism is communism." Valdimir Lenin "Socialism states that you owe me something simply because I exist. Capitalism, by contrast, results in a sort of reality-forced altruism: I may not want to help you, I may dislike you, but if I don't give you a product or service you want, I will starve. Voluntary exchange is more moral than forced redistribution." Ben Shapiro "Democracy and socialism have nothing in common but one word, equality. But notice the difference: while democracy seeks equality in liberty, socialism seeks equality in restraint and servitude." Alexis de Tocqeville "No one should suffer from the great delusion that any form of communism or socialism which promotes the dictatorship of the few instead of the initiative of the millions can produce a happier or more prosperous society." Charles E. Wilson

I love that you know of Ben Shapiro, I am a pretty big fan of his and he is an amazing debater.
