  • Both religions say I should be killed for "sorcery" I think being afraid of the followers of a religion that threatens you is Just.

  • It seems almost ridiculous to ask if it is "just" to be afraid of that which history and current world affairs, confirm to be deadly. Although Islam is the most dangerous, openly intent and horrific threat to ALL of humanity, history has shown that the fervor of man made religions*, is deadly (*which is every single one, as God has no religion).

  • Why be scared of someone just because of their religion or anything that doesn't have to do with their personality? That's just stupid!

  • Are we being technical? It looks like we're being technical. The actual definition of phobia is something like "an extreme or irrational fear of or aversion to something." Therefore, assuming this definition, that would make the statement of having a just fear not actually a phobia, because it would be just. Therefore, if the fear of religion is actually just, calling it a phobia would be a bit oxymoronic. So no, it's not possible for a phobia to be just if there's a reason, because then it wouldn't be irrational. Or maybe I missed something and this whole comment is just a waste of time. Who knows?

Would I be considered an Islamophobe if I just generally have a slightly negative view of Islam?

@triangle.128k Generally have a slightly negative view? I think that's an oxymoron.

@triangle.128k If you generally have a negative view of Islam, then yes, I would say. I dislike the ideology too. Would that make y̲o̲u̲ regressive?

Depends. I hate both Islam and Christianity, but Muslims and Christians shouldn't be feared for the religion they were born into (Unless they are Salaffi, Wahabbi or South Baptist)
