Multiverse Theory

Parallel worlds—as many of us already know—are said to be very much like ours, with only minor (or in some cases, major) differences. According to the theory, there is an infinite number of these universes.

Instrumentalism

Instrumentalism is the view that a scientific theory is a useful instrument in understanding the world. A concept or theory should be evaluated by how effectively it explains and predicts phenomena, as opposed to how accurately it describes objectiv... e reality   more

Eternalism

Eternalism presents a sharp contrast to presentism. This philosophical theory postulates that time actually has many layers, and could perhaps be compared with a sponge cake. All layers exist simultaneously, but the layer seen by a particular observ... er depends on where he is standing   more

Instrumentalism-That what is and is not reality doesn't matter what matters is our instruments/tools which includes among them the descriptions that we use and how well they work. So it doesn't matter if our descriptions are real or not if they work. A scientific theory's usefulness is how well it can explain and predict phenomenon we interact with. It matters not whether it describes objective reality.

This list is a mess. Some of these aren't even mutually exclusive. Brain-in-a-vat & Solipsism are compatible, and Multiverse & fictional realism are compatible. Solipsism is a form of idealism. The list includes idealism, but not realism?
