  • As Emo Philips once said, "I was walking down fifth avenue today and I found a wallet, and I was gonna keep it, rather than return it, but I thought: well, if I lost a hundred and fifty dollars, how would I feel? And I realized I would want to be taught a lesson." Though to be frank, if it was on the news and they asked for a return, I'd return it.

  • Just being realistic... I could pay off my student loans. Kind of paradoxical, but if it was a wallet with the money and an ID, I'd likely return it.

  • That much money.... keep it

  • I was walking around and found $120 dollars one time. I kept it, I immediately spent a portion of it. If I found $1million, I would just have to be a lot more careful how I spent it, to avoid the taxman that's trying to steal it from me.

  • Because i CouLd BuY The mostest MINECRAFTTTTT

  • I wouldn't reach out to find the owner, but if they found me I'd turn it over

I would stick by it for a little while to see if anybody picked it up. I'd make sure that the money was inside the bag and not exposed so that the only person besides me knowing the contents of the bag would be the owner. If nobody retrieved it within 3 hours or so I'd take it.

Call a lawyer and turn it in to the police through him or her. Think about it: That money has to be in a bag, and not in a bank earning money because... Most likely answer is that it is ill-gotten somehow, and I don't want to get involved in that.

Also, several things would need to be considered. First of all, if that $1,000,000 was somebody's life savings or something, they wouldn't be so careless as to leave it in public and not come back to retrieve it in a 2-hour period. Thus, the $1,000,000 would be relatively insignificant to the person who it originally belonged to (perhaps a billionaire?). Perhaps he/she intentionally left it there so that some random bystander could take it and get rich. If the money was intended for a very specific person or group, then it would not be left where anybody could see its contents and take it. Therefore, it's most likely okay to take the money after 3 hours of waiting.

Honestly I doubt that anyone would be carrying around one million dollars in cash unless they were involved in some shifty business.
