Will play most games at 1080p and a solid framerate.

Good for Call of Duty and not much else. Air filters will get clogged with Doritos shards.

I play NO games, but have purchased and used the AMD FX- processors for a number of workstations. They are VERY good at a price point.

@gabep While reading my Vote, remember the most important thing I could ever teach you about computer hardware...The majority of the time, you get what you pay for. If you think you're getting an AMAZING deal...You're probably getting shafted by a company trying to dump bad equipment or sub-par manufacturing so they can get it out of their hair and send out the newer or better tech.

Something like this then? Http://pcpartpicker.Com/p/gDpKD3

Also, the reason for the high PSU output is that I plan to SLI as an additional means of future-proofing.

@gabep For future proofing and for SLI support, you gotta do some in-depth searching. Here is a website for you to start with. These are a bit more pricey but if you want this thing to last, to be future proofed, and to be reliable support and functionality wise; you want to spend a bit more money. If you don't, you'll end up spending more money in the long run. Http://www.Pcgamer.Com/x99-motherboard-roundup-7-motherboards-reviewed/#page-1

@gabep Since you are going with those GeForce nextgen style video cards, you NEED to look at the size and make sure you get a board with room and a case with PLENTY of room for the card AND the heat dispersion....There's a reason that thing has TWO fans on it, it's not small and it generates a TON of heat and needs plenty of room to be ventilated out. Trust me, if you do NOT give that card a TON of open air in that case, it will heat up fast in there and you're gonna do some damage. That card is almost a foot long too so it's not your dad's video card.

@gabep OH and to give you a heads up on that card and cards equivalent to them.....When I say they get hot, I mean HOT HOT HOT. I mean when it is running DO NOT TOUCH IT, THE HEAT SINKS, FACES, PIPES YOU MAY SEE.....TOUCH NOTHING!!! If you have to clean it, turn the machine off for a couple minutes first because it WILL burn you. I burnt myself on mine. I got the.....I think it is a 480....When those style first came out. I was so used to just diving right in that I touched a heat sink pipe right when I turned the machine off and it literally burnt my hand.

X99 Motherboards appear to have an incompatible socket.
gabep says2015-07-03T13:16:33.4641876-05:00
And yes, I am well aware of the heat generated.

Not just the x99, it's an entire review site on the top I think 5 MBs of 2015 for gaming. There are 3 pages total to read through.

They're all X99, aren't they? Also, have you heard if the NZXT Phantom 530 is any good?

Thanks for the help!

Build it yourself, it's pretty easy and you will save a fortune.
Kreakin says2015-07-03T16:22:47.7138156-05:00
The new HDCP2.2 compliant GPU's are out soon. What for them or you won't be able to watch 4k bluray when it's out later this year. Not to mention no one will want an compliant second hand card. The hdcp2.2 av receivers are just out now.
Kreakin says2015-07-03T16:25:41.1111501-05:00
*non-compliant
Kreakin says2015-07-03T16:26:41.3060090-05:00
You also want a hdcp2.2 monitor.
gabep says2015-07-03T17:07:17.1123492-05:00
@kreakin - yes, I am building it myself. I also have the monitor and I am just finalizing my parts list.
