DARUDE
MechVarg says2015-07-18T20:35:18.1345989-05:00
Also, communism and anarchism are not mutually exclusive
ISISmilitant says2015-07-18T20:47:04.5730445-05:00
Add islamist as an ideology
MechVarg says2015-07-18T20:48:02.4174737-05:00
@ISISmilitant That's conservative...
triangle.128k says2015-07-18T20:50:41.7561355-05:00
But that's like ultra-conservative
jlott069 says2015-07-18T21:48:19.5444873-05:00
Nothing is more important than the individual rights of the people.
Haroush says2015-07-19T08:53:51.2319639-05:00
No, that is more so communism.
Haroush says2015-07-19T08:54:38.1782671-05:00
Varrack is not no conservative either..
Haroush says2015-07-19T08:55:14.3905638-05:00
I would like to see a choice of Constitutionalism
triangle.128k says2015-07-19T09:25:05.9520143-05:00
@Haroush Why isn't Varrack conservative? Is it because he's more moderate and not as far right as conservatives like you?
triangle.128k says2015-07-19T09:27:42.2328143-05:00
Also, how can you be a "constitutionalist" while being a neo-confederate? You know one of the main things in the Constitution is federalism?
58539672 says2015-07-19T12:50:21.8302609-05:00
I dont adhere to any particular ideology. My beliefs are my own.
mystery_man43 says2015-07-19T15:59:10.1846869-05:00
So, you're a neo-confederate, eh? Care to debate sometime?
Varrack says2015-07-19T16:09:51.8316181-05:00
This site has made me a bit more moderate. I was pretty right when I joined an another account a year or more ago but the diversity and exposure to other ideas has left me moving toward the middle a bit more. I used to think being gay was a choice, evolution was false, and strongly opposed ssm. I hold none of those stances now.
mystery_man43 says2015-07-19T16:16:12.0031384-05:00
@Varrack Funny, I came into this site as a theistic evolutionist and came out as a young Earth Creationist.
mystery_man43 says2015-07-19T16:16:41.8027117-05:00
@Varrack Also, what was your previous account's name?
triangle.128k says2015-07-19T16:22:46.5619082-05:00
Wow, this site made you resort to crazy ideas like young earth creation?
tajshar2k says2015-07-19T16:25:02.4975443-05:00
I was conservative when I came to the site. I was Pro torture, anti welfare, anti abortion.
triangle.128k says2015-07-19T16:26:34.5015143-05:00
I was left libertarian before I joined this site, now I shifted more right wing. Not so long before joining the sight, I had pretty far left beliefs.
Varrack says2015-07-19T16:27:27.0171246-05:00
@tajshar - really? What made you change your mind?
tajshar2k says2015-07-19T16:27:42.3535370-05:00
But you are a commie...
triangle.128k says2015-07-19T16:28:38.4422987-05:00
@tajshar2k Didn't I tell you why I changed my party to communist party?
tajshar2k says2015-07-19T16:29:31.0713308-05:00
Pro torture: I saw a documentary on Abu Gharib Abortion: Really I'm still anti abortion, but I decided my choice shouldn't effect the freedom of other people from aborting their child. So I'm pro choice, but anti abortion Anti-Welfare: Thought all poor people were poor cause they were stupid, but I went to a ghetto neighboorhood in Chicago, and talked to some people. Certainly isn't the case.
tajshar2k says2015-07-19T16:29:48.7754518-05:00
Ya I know it was a joke :D
triangle.128k says2015-07-19T16:30:23.7397245-05:00
I'll keep changing my party as a running gag
tajshar2k says2015-07-19T16:30:37.5001892-05:00
A bunch of other stuff too.
mystery_man43 says2015-07-19T16:31:52.6897596-05:00
@triangle.128k LOL I was a Green Partier at one point in my life until I sat down one day and thought to myself "Why do I ignore the facts" and realized how much I've been ignoring reality. I still am a radical environmentalist though...
tajshar2k says2015-07-19T16:32:21.5497596-05:00
Triangle, what issues were you left on?
triangle.128k says2015-07-19T16:34:28.2841596-05:00
Well my social issues haven't changed much. I was a little more left wing economic wise.
triangle.128k says2015-07-19T16:35:10.0297596-05:00
I supported slightly more socialist policies and more economic regulation.
tajshar2k says2015-07-19T16:36:15.9865596-05:00
So, now you support no regulation ?
mystery_man43 says2015-07-19T16:36:17.0193342-05:00
Actually, after my "Green Party Years" I tried populism eventually turning into the conservative I am now.
triangle.128k says2015-07-19T16:37:08.5741596-05:00
Oh, and I was more left wing environmentally. Right now, I would think it's fine to compromise on the environment ocassionally if it does enough good to the economy.
mystery_man43 says2015-07-19T16:38:35.6108005-05:00
@triangle.128k Yeah, I still don't believe that we should harm the environment just to support the economy.
triangle.128k says2015-07-19T16:38:59.7308645-05:00
@tajshar2k No, I don't believe in no regulation. I just believe in a little less regulation and more free markets. But I agree on the government getting involved sometimes. I think one particular place which needs some more government interference is the food industry, thanks to the high obesity rates in US.
triangle.128k says2015-07-19T16:40:29.3947895-05:00
@mystery_man43 did you seriously become a young earth creationist? How could you know a fundamental biology concept and then loose it?
Varrack says2015-07-19T16:41:27.7681596-05:00
"I was a Green Partier at one point in my life until I sat down one day and thought to myself 'Why do I ignore the facts'" Lol! Nice.
triangle.128k says2015-07-19T16:41:30.3441678-05:00
@mystery_man43 Well sometimes it'it's necessary in my opinion. China put the environment second and look how much they've risen.
triangle.128k says2015-07-19T16:43:51.8800396-05:00
Also, pollution is becoming less and less of an issue thanks to technological advancement. Renewable energy sources are becoming better and more frequently used as time passes, so I don't really worry as much about the environment as I used to.
mystery_man43 says2015-07-19T16:44:11.2252839-05:00
@triangle.128k I was hoping that we could perhaps change the subject to "our previous political beliefs". I'm not really that interested in discussing "how we came to be" right now.
Varrack says2015-07-19T16:49:19.9986265-05:00
I used to think Santa Claus was real. So I guess I was once a radical extremist.
triangle.128k says2015-07-19T16:50:08.7857651-05:00
@mystery_man43 But young earth creation has literally no evidence. You're just denying all scientific facts and saying YEC is true because of the bible. It doesn't even say anywhere in the bible about the earth's age.
mystery_man43 says2015-07-19T16:55:04.2542495-05:00
@triangle.128k I'm sorry, but pollution is still a HUGE problem in China. In fact, almost 75 percent of China's major cities failed to meet air quality standards in June this year. I don't think that's called making progress which I assume you are suggesting is happening with the "technological advancements" that are supposed to help with all the pollution.
tajshar2k says2015-07-19T16:56:55.0273806-05:00
There won't be world to make money in, if we don't take care of the environment. People should put the environment in front of the economy 90% of the time..
triangle.128k says2015-07-19T16:58:21.0110077-05:00
I know but the problem is declining as technology progresses. China's economic boom and rapid urbanization has brought millions of people out of poverty. They're now soon to pass the USA's economy. They're coming closer to superpower status as well.
triangle.128k says2015-07-19T17:00:18.9589039-05:00
Renewable energy sources are becoming cheaper and more efficient. Even non-renewable sources are emitting less pollution, technology progresses.
mystery_man43 says2015-07-19T17:00:20.3970424-05:00
@tajshar2k Kudos to you. I'm glad you realize how important our environment is.
tajshar2k says2015-07-19T17:01:05.5900775-05:00
@mystery_man lol thanks :D
triangle.128k says2015-07-19T17:01:35.9164775-05:00
I agree the environment is important, but sometimes the economy is too. Boosting the economy can bring many out of poverty and sufferong.
mystery_man43 says2015-07-19T17:02:32.5444775-05:00
@tajshar2k No problemo
triangle.128k says2015-07-19T17:02:54.0412775-05:00
China is also more environmentally efficient than the US. They just have more pollution due to the higher population, as well as the fact that they have a lot more manafacturing going on.
Varrack says2015-07-19T17:03:22.1524775-05:00
I don't think the environment is that big a deal. We ought focus on other things more. There's plenty of trees in the forests already.
tajshar2k says2015-07-19T17:04:07.3949120-05:00
@triangle.128k Tell that too workers at Foxconn, assembling thousands of MacBooks and getting paid a couple a cents an hour, and barely making enough to eat 3 square meals a day.
mystery_man43 says2015-07-19T17:04:58.9433037-05:00
@Varrack "I don't think the environment is that big a deal. We ought focus on other things more. There's plenty of trees in the forests already." LOL your logic.
tajshar2k says2015-07-19T17:05:35.4832067-05:00
@Varrack Those trees will also be gone, if we don't regulate what large corporations do. 20% of the Amazon's trees, are already gone!
mystery_man43 says2015-07-19T17:09:26.4110654-05:00
@tajshar2k Yes! Oh my gosh. Yes! Why don't people get that? The Amazon Rainforest is being destroyed, how can people say that there are plenty of trees left when, at this rate, half of the Amazon will be gone by 2030!
mystery_man43 says2015-07-19T17:10:37.6246089-05:00
@Varrack Perhaps I was being a tad bit harsh by commenting "LOL your logic.". For this, I apologize.
triangle.128k says2015-07-19T17:10:54.6183463-05:00
@tajshar2k the working conditions are improving though. It should also become less of a problem seeing as there's more money to go around thanks to it's economic rise.
triangle.128k says2015-07-19T17:12:58.2793254-05:00
Also, you could comfortably fit the whole world's population in a large city the size of Alaska or a bit larger. There is still plenty of wildlife and natural land and all. But I do agree on some restrictions to preserve the enviornment.
tajshar2k says2015-07-19T17:15:20.1231980-05:00
IMO we need to highly tax companies who are harming the environment. Keep the FDA Subsidize renewable energy Promote research of renewable energy. Send around drones to monitor forests from illegal loggers.
Varrack says2015-07-19T17:15:24.6085405-05:00
Just plant more trees :)
tajshar2k says2015-07-19T17:16:48.5590311-05:00
We should give trees our 2nd amendment rights, so when corporations attack them, they can defend themselves. Thousands of trees can be protected if we gave them the right to bear arms.
mystery_man43 says2015-07-19T17:18:42.3779109-05:00
@Varrack D-X
mystery_man43 says2015-07-19T17:20:02.1502800-05:00
@Varrack They're not planting trees, that's the problem.
triangle.128k says2015-07-19T17:20:05.7313824-05:00
@Varrack We could also try "terraforming" more deserted places. Like Australlia for example, people only live on the coasts where it isn't a desert.
triangle.128k says2015-07-19T17:21:37.0099079-05:00
The Jews helped turn Israel from a desert to more lush and greener than it was before, that's one example.
mystery_man43 says2015-07-19T17:23:44.4490000-05:00
@triangle.128k Hmm. That's interesting. Perhaps we could try something like that.
triangle.128k says2015-07-19T17:25:25.8964503-05:00
@mystery_man43 Exactly, we should focus on making more deserted places more lush and habitable.
Varrack says2015-07-19T17:27:58.6012463-05:00
If we cut down the Amazon, would we still have enough oxygen in the atmosphere? There's plenty of other forests in the world too.
tajshar2k says2015-07-19T17:28:43.0661017-05:00
Varrack, that was just one example. Forest all around the world are being cut.
triangle.128k says2015-07-19T17:29:23.3388844-05:00
Many people have ideas of terraforming the Sahara desert. But I do think the amazon should be preserved.
mystery_man43 says2015-07-19T17:32:40.7473750-05:00
@Varrack The Amazon Rainforest produces roughly 20% of the Earth's oxygen. Would you really want that to be gone?
