None of the above. Humans are focused on self interests but those interests often involve groups. A group willing to take a risk in hope of the groups benefit are being selfless and selfish at the same time. Selfless as they are individually taking a risk to help others but selfish as they are looking to benefit themselves along with the group.

There are countless factors that determine how human beings act; from genetics, to cosmic phenomena that hits Earths atmosphere. They all go full circle. Pretty much everything directly/indirectly effects you. We are all relative to how that plays out.
