After being beheaded a person still has conscience for up to 30 seconds. There is also possible for a person to experience full body phantom limb syndrome which would be very painful. So being beheaded could be like being in full body agony while you feel yourself dying.
Futurepresident2048 what about adding the method of "cooling the bodies body temperature to 64.4F so that the person is indistinguishable from someone who is actually dead before the execution"
Effectively cooling a person down to 64.4F is currently used to preform heart surgeries.
Actually execution from firing squad.
Quote-The prisoner dies as a result of blood loss caused by rupture of the heart or a large blood vessel, or tearing of the lungs. The person shot loses consciousness when shock causes a fall in the supply of blood to the brain. If the shooters miss the heart, by accident or intention, the prisoner bleeds to death slowly. (Hillman, 1992 and Weisberg, 1991)-end quote.
"How about: No execution." I will explain why I support the death penalty with my comment from that poll.
The death penalty in the end is a needed buffer. It protects punishments from being to weak, if you abolish the death penalty then life in prison would be soon to follow. Eventually you would get mass serial killers getting out of prison in 20 or so years which has happen in other countries. There is also deterrence which is a hard thing to measure, but I will explain it with logic. If I know a person is about to kill me, which is would affect them more, me saying "well I will be dead but you will be alive in prison till you die of natural causes." or "Well I will be dead but so will you, and you would spend the rest of your life in prison knowing the date you will die."
