  • movies take longer.

  • A short book holds for more intellectual capacity to think, derive and interpret. Everyone reads a book differently, whereas a movie is created based on the perception of a few individuals on how it should be like. Most movies are targeted at a broad based audience with a profit-maximizing motive, and thus only favors a certain formula.

  • Against a short book? Yes. But when they are both long books/movies, it depends on the story.

Kinda depends on the story. Some stories are better told in the medium of film. Some are better told in the medium of books.
