  • A great democracy has got to be progressive or it will soon cease to be great or a democracy. Conservatism is the blind and fear-filled worship of dead radicals.

  • "Progressivism is a philosophy based on the idea of progress, which asserts that advancement in science, technology, economic development, and social organization are vital to improve the human condition. Progressivism became highly significant during the Age of Enlightenment in Europe, out of the belief that Europe was demonstrating that societies could progress in civility from barbaric conditions to civilization through strengthening the basis of empirical knowledge as the foundation of society. Figures of the Enlightenment believed that progress had universal application to all societies and that these ideas would spread across the world from Europe." Damn Wikipedia! Conservatives just want to keep the Status-quo. Holding onto the past will only get you forgotten. The "makers" will soon be robots, Capitalism will lead to war along with it's own destruction & Christians will fade from history. Progressivism isn't something you get to choose. It will happen naturally over time... hints the name.

  • Why is there a picture of ISIS for conservatives? That's ridiculous. Conservatives may not believe in gay marriage but they wouldn't punish someone for being homosexual, let alone kill them. ISIS believes in limiting religious freedom, conservatives believe in religious freedom. ISIS doesn't want to give woman rights, conservatives want women to have equal rights.

  • You place a lot of faith in Progressive ideas. The Idea of pro (Progressive) Take from the makers to give to the needy, which brings more demands. The Con (conservative) Use your own talents to go as fa as you can. Pro, all are equal and only the elite government at the controls should decide. Con, all should be treated equal by the law and government including those working in and for government. Pro has education union and established worker unions backing their cause, but by doing so they hurt the ones that need protection. Workers and the young.

  • lesser of the two evils.

  • I'm sorry now the conservatives are branded with ISIS, we do not believe in gay marriage, the dippers and believe that capitalism is the only way that mankind can progress since communism does not work. Conservative logic is just the most effective way of running a capitalist society, in no way are we like ISIS.

I am radical about moderatism.
reece says2015-06-29T05:01:11.1210842-05:00
@Emilrose So you lean on the Progressive side of the spectrum?
reece says2015-06-29T09:09:40.5384105-05:00
@Teaparty1 Either way their still conservatives.
reece says2015-06-29T09:16:54.9755649-05:00
@Ontime it's pretty safe to jump on the bandwagon of progress when the most elite minds lean towards it.
reece says2015-06-29T09:17:16.6131810-05:00

Biased poll
reece says2015-06-29T09:38:49.1806925-05:00
@triangle.128k How is it unfair?
TBR says2015-06-29T09:39:07.5553916-05:00
Reece - I have no issue with using ISIL for conservative. They are, and show the extreme. I think using the Weather Underground might have worked for radical progressive. Still would side with The Weather Underground, but it would be a bit more fair.
reece says2015-06-29T09:40:10.6222593-05:00
@TBR I haven't heard of them

reece says2015-06-29T09:45:24.1256906-05:00
@TBR Their reasons can be understood. Anyway their not around anymore, or are they?
triangle.128k says2015-06-29T09:49:18.3257963-05:00
@reece It's showing a rich-looking city on the progressive side and it's showing ISIS on the conservative side.
reece says2015-06-29T09:51:46.4812466-05:00
@triangle.128k yup. Progress arises from innovation which conservatives are against.
reece says2015-06-29T09:53:25.0217423-05:00
Primitives
triangle.128k says2015-06-29T09:54:26.2548755-05:00
Far-left isn't good either, look at the USSR.
reece says2015-06-29T09:57:12.1162019-05:00
@triangle.128k Yes, communism goes against human nature. Left-wing/ secular countries often do better.
triangle.128k says2015-06-29T09:58:35.5618257-05:00
South Korea is relatively more right-wing, look how much they've progressed. They used to be a very poor country.
triangle.128k says2015-06-29T09:59:13.9853646-05:00
Also, you're showing a terrorist group as radical conservatism, you could have shown fascism or something instead.
reece says2015-06-29T10:00:13.4849088-05:00
I said often. I could of but it doesn't really matter.
reece says2015-06-29T10:02:12.0471888-05:00
You all fair change
triangle.128k says2015-06-29T10:02:34.7291184-05:00
Well it depends how far right or how far left they are. A moderately right-wing country is likely to do better than a far-left semi-socialist country.
reece says2015-06-29T10:04:24.1294231-05:00
WTF look at the social democracy's in Europe. Their the best countries in the word. I think you're just pulling stuff out your @ss

triangle.128k says2015-06-29T10:06:28.8281268-05:00
Social democracy is FAR from socialism.
triangle.128k says2015-06-29T10:07:22.3516520-05:00
The nordic countries that many people praise aren't really as "socialist" as you think they are, they have a relative free-market economy.
reece says2015-06-29T10:07:30.1217055-05:00
You did say semi-socialist... Don't try to backtrack
TBR says2015-06-29T10:08:05.3812798-05:00
I think jumping up and down about ISIL is more telling than the poll. ISIL is conservative. Radical conservative.
triangle.128k says2015-06-29T10:09:52.7385566-05:00
@reece Yeah, the nordic countries like Finland are actually more capitalist if anything.
TBR says2015-06-29T10:10:06.1090138-05:00
Reece There may be some current form of the Weather Underground, but I doubt it. Listen to some of the x-Clan music I post from time to time. It is very radical, and Professor X father was a big deal in "The Days of Rage" and connected with the Weathermen.
Emilrose says2015-06-29T10:13:29.0222073-05:00
Hmm I suppose, but as said I am mostly moderate and neither "progressive" or "conservative".
Emilrose says2015-06-29T10:13:55.6675197-05:00
But I do like candy floss.
triangle.128k says2015-06-29T10:14:06.2216332-05:00
The US is also more conservative economically and many inventions and innovations have came from the US. Many famous innovators/inventors come to the US for it's relatively free market economy.
reece says2015-06-29T10:18:39.8113839-05:00
@triangle.128k lol you ignored me and just went off spouting.
Midnight1131 says2015-06-29T10:19:04.9278669-05:00
I see this has turned into an argument about progressiveness vs conservatism in general, as everyone is ignoring the word "radical" in each of them. Such as teaparty1.
triangle.128k says2015-06-29T10:37:09.0239145-05:00
@reece I didn't ignore you?
58539672 says2015-06-29T10:43:32.9160969-05:00
Hmm, Im actually having a hard time deciding. They both pretty bad. Then radical conservatives tend to be the more aggressive and violent of the two. But if your government has a radical progressive leadership, they often make over zealous policies that they can't keep which in turn hurts the nation as a whole (especially in economic policy). They mean well, but their arrogance often causes more destruction in the end than the conservatives.
tajshar2k says2015-06-29T11:02:01.4890152-05:00
I rather be part of the Soviet Union, rather than be part of ISIS.
triangle.128k says2015-06-29T11:09:14.9461188-05:00
@tajshar2k Yeah, most people would. But, it's a little unfair that he shows ISIS as an example of radical conservatism. He could have shown fascist italy or something.
tajshar2k says2015-06-29T11:10:17.0637453-05:00
But ISIS is radical conservatism.
tajshar2k says2015-06-29T11:10:40.8698031-05:00
But I agree, he picked the worst for the conservatives, and a pleasant one for liberals.
reece says2015-06-29T11:12:18.3716781-05:00
Ones for innervation and the other isn't. Their meant to be opposites.
tajshar2k says2015-06-29T11:18:07.4331652-05:00
But ISIS for conservatism isn't really accurate. Islamic conservatism is completely different from the rest of the world.
reece says2015-06-29T11:19:31.2332022-05:00
@tajshar2k So is first world Progressivism to them.
TBR says2015-06-29T17:14:28.1230313-05:00
@tajshar2k - Its really not that different. In the US we have radicals that want Christian law. The degree of difference is not as marked as many would like to think it is.
Diqiucun_Cunmin says2015-06-30T08:32:11.3603850-05:00
The pics are clearly biased, lol... @Teaparty: That's the way it is in the US now, but look back. Fifty years ago, jailing gays was the norm worldwide; you'd have to be an extreme liberal to even suggest gay marriage.
Conservative12 says2015-06-30T09:59:34.5120129-05:00
Ya this society has evolved into becoming an extreme liberal, it is just the norm now. THen when russia tries to stay away from this they get everyone upset
kenikaobrien says2016-07-19T12:54:28.9420112Z
ISIS is conservative. Radical conservative sure, but that just means they're better at it than your non-radical ass. Lame conservative!
