When we talk about bigotry against homosexuals, are we talking about death? (Read description)

I first heard this argument from Sam Harris, although I don't think he was talking about homosexuality. I think that the only reason to say that homosexuality is an abomination (or something like that) is if someone believes a holy book which also says that if you believe the holy book you're going to heaven. So when we talk about bigotry against homosexuals, I would argue we're talking about death and an afterlife. Your thoughts?

I just think the only reason why people would call homosexuality an abomination is if they had a holy book that tells them to say that. And they want the holy book to be true so that they can get into heaven.
