Which is a better name for the third planet... Earth or Terra?

Posted by: Rezamee

I want to know which name sounds better to people.

  • Terra, we use Latin a lot anyway so might as well.

  • Earth, lets keep things traditional.

  • Holy Terra, to be precise. Heretic.

  • Terra1. The second planet we colonize will be called Terra2, and so on...

  • I don't really have all that great of a reason, it's just that Terra sounds so much cooler than "earth", and it fits in with the rest of the planet names. Heck, let's name it Gaia. That's even cooler.

  • Terra would be neat.

I kind of like reece's train of thought of Terra One, Terra Two, so on and so forth.

How is Terra1 2... Different than Earth1 2...

I like "terra" just fine, however I am English (anglo-saxon) and earth is the word. There are plenty of places (languages) that basically call earth->terra. I had a he11 of a time in France with "Toure Eiffel". From the cab driver it sounded like "tooorry fell".

@TBR I was using it as a pun. Terra means territory.
