Minecraft is a sandbox indie game originally created by Swedish programmer Markus "Notch" Persson and later developed and published by Mojang. It was publicly released for the PC on May 17, 2009, as a developmental alpha version and, after gradual u... pdates, was published as a full release version on November 18, 2011. A version for Android was released a month earlier on October 7, and an iOS version was released on November 17, 2011. On May 9, 2012, the game was released on Xbox 360 as an Xbox Live Arcade game, co-developed by 4J Studios. All versions of Minecraft receive periodic updates. The creative and building aspects of Minecraft allow players to build constructions out of textured cubes in a 3D procedurally generated world. Other activities in the game include exploration, gathering resources, crafting, and combat. Gameplay in its commercial release has two principal modes: survival, which requires players to acquire resources and maintain their health and hunger; and creative, where players have an unlimited supply of resources, the ability to fly, and no health or hunger. A third gameplay mode named hardcore is the same as survival, differing only in difficulty; it is set to hardest setting and respawning is disabled, forcing players to delete their worlds upon death   more

Grand Theft Auto IV

Grand Theft Auto IV is a 2008 open world action-adventure video game, developed by Rockstar North and published by Rockstar Games. It was released for the PlayStation 3 and Xbox 360 on 29 April 2008, and for the Microsoft Windows on 2 December 2008....  It is set in the fictional Liberty City, based heavily on modern day New York City. The game follows Niko Bellic, a veteran of an unnamed war in Eastern Europe, who comes to the United States in search of someone important, but quickly becomes entangled in a world of gangs, crime, and corruption. Like other games in the series, GTA IV is composed of elements from driving games and third-person shooters, and features open world gameplay, in which players can interact with the game world at their leisure. Grand Theft Auto IV also features several online multiplayer modes. Two expansion packs have been developed for the game, originally released as downloadable content for the Xbox 360 version throughout 2009. Both The Lost and Damned and The Ballad of Gay Tony feature new plots that are interconnected with the main GTA IV storyline, and follow new protagonists. The two episodes have been released together for all platforms as a stand-alone game called Grand Theft Auto: Episodes from Liberty City. A bundle that contained both the original GTA IV game and the Episodes was also released, titled Grand Theft Auto IV: The Complete Edition. It depends hugely on the audience and personal preference. If you like violence and shooting and you're of a more mature age, then GTA would be much more fun, definitely. But if you're younger, like maybe 13 below, then odds are you'd like MC more. It's creative, it provides the kind of violence that's perfectly fine for that age, and it has limitless possibilities, not unlike GTA. I am inconclusive in this poll.

I havent played GTA before, but from my experience MC is a very boring game, you have to do the all over again. GTA is too violent and has innapropriate language(i think:P). But GTA is a good graphic game, you can do many things so therefore i go for GTA ~~~~arrowinmyknee

This is a poorly made poll, no offense, but if you want to make a fair poll, choose two games made for the same age in the same game category, do Minecraft versus Roblox or GTA 4 versus GTA 5 or something.

They are two totally different categories of games. It makes no sense to compare them. It's like asking whether cats are better than dogs (without specifying any criterion like loyalty or cuteness). Minecraft gives you amazing malleability, adventure, progress etc. GTA IV gives you amazing gameplay, graphics, action etc. You could compare 'fun', but that's quite a broad range of specialties. It would be a matter of personal preference, and wouldn't give any results relevant to the games. The simple fact that you tried to compare such a graphically... Primitive game like Minecraft to such a graphically advanced game like Grand Theft Auto should shout, "THEY'RE DIFFERENT TYPES! Both give an amazing, but different experience!". A few criteria isn't just what makes a game a good one. At the very least, you could try to specify a criterion like "Which has better -" 'graphics' or 'adventure' or 'controls'. TL;DR Both of them are completely different and unique. No use to compare them.
