The newer, technologically reliant music that is respectably catchy vs. The older classics which arguably have more substance and actual voice talent (excuse the bias (:
Contemporary Music (Included is modern country, modern rap, dubstep, skrillex, etc.)
The classics (Billy Joel, Ray Charles, The Beatles, ACDC, Journey, Swing 20's, BeeGees, Rolling Stones, Buddy Holly, Johnny Cash).

In fairness there was a lot of crap in the 20th century as well, everything is remembered fondly when you look back but even so, i think the greatest acts of the 20th century far outweigh the greatest acts of the current century, in so much as, if the world stopped today, and you had to name the biggest stars in the world today, i don't really think Rihanna, Katy Perry and umm Justin Beiber? (i have no clue) compare to the biggest stars of 20th century
