Which is the lesser of the two evils (or the greater of the two goods): Anarcho-Capitalism or Anarcho-Communism?

Posted by: PetersSmith

The common ground between anarcho-communists and anarcho-capitalists is they are both seeking a world with little or no state control.

  • Anarcho-capitalism; a political philosophy which advocates the elimination of the state in favor of individual sovereignty, private property, and open markets. Anarcho-capitalists believe that in the absence of statute (law by decree or legislation), society would improve itself through the discipline of the free market (or what its proponents describe as a "voluntary society"). In an anarcho-capitalist society, law enforcement, courts, and all other security services would be operated by privately funded c

  • Anarchist Communism; a theory of anarchism which advocates the abolition of the state, capitalism, wages and private property (while retaining respect for personal property), and in favor of common ownership of the means of production, direct democracy, and a horizontal network of voluntary associations and workers' councils with production and consumption based on the guiding principle: "from each according to his ability, to each according to his need".

  • With capitalism the individual can do with his/her life as she pleases

  • A man can be a man in this system in the other one a man can only be a girl.

  • Capitalism is people interacting voluntarily. The argument that freedom can supply me with food, but not a road is completely idiotic.

  • Why would you want to live in anarcho capitalism? Do you want to pay for the police if you got robbed?? Are people so greedy for their private property that they are willing to let money be the deciding factor of everything? including who lives and who dies?

  • heck yeah

  • Oh, yeah! Anarcho-capitalism! Because exactly what we need is less regulation on capitalism! Don't you realize, as history shows, that the less regulation on capitalism there is, the worse it gets for the masses of the world? The American state actively cooperates with capitalists- not only that, it seems to put them first! This would just be what the capitalists want- what they've been building up to all along. They ought to just admit already that they want to control whatever they can.

Sorry, it got cut off: *In an anarcho-capitalist society, law enforcement, courts, and all other security services would be operated by privately funded competitors rather than centrally through compulsory taxation. Money, along with all other goods and services, would be privately and competitively provided in an open market.

These are both unethical, but i will give my vote anyway. If your seriously interested in inspiring philosophies, i highly recommend checking libertarianism out. It would stabilise society, and it is what we need to thrive and become freer individuals. Anarchism would only work if it comes along at the right time in society, i do not agree with any aspect of capitalism or communism though.

Libertarian but con Capitalism and con Socialism? What do you suggest?

I don't know about Outside, but I would, given the choice, instantly choose leftist libertarianism over rightist libertarianism.

It would be easier to reach peaceful anarchy through socialism, I think.

Well, its also easy to collapse governments and create anarchy that way. Doesn't have to be peaceful, however I'm sure we would all prefer a peaceful anarchy over a violent one.

"Libertarian but con Capitalism and con Socialism? What do you suggest?" @Comrade, I think the Libertarian motto is "Markets, not Capitalism".

OutsideYourBox: What makes you think I support either? Did I not say "lesser of the two evils"?
OutsideYourBox says2014-11-19T14:32:24.6430011-06:00
@petersmith and i you actually re-read what i wrote you will find i did not suggest that you support either of the "lesser evils". I was sharing the philosophy of libertarianism.

OutsideYourBox: You said "if you are seriously interested in inspiring philosophies...". What makes you think I even hinted at that?
