So It doesn't yet exist, but the old party promoted socio-capitalism, direct democracy, and equality.1 comment

Modern Whig Party
Look at that Owl! He promotes a centrist philosophy that involves letting the states choose their laws, abolishing morality laws, and redirecting government taxes to the individual states. The Owl has spoken!0 comments

If only old Theo won in 1912. Screw the electoral college. Bring back popular vote.
I can see this quickly becoming a libertarian vs. Wig debate though.
@Brendan, nothing against the greens, but would you really want one as president?
Well, somebody's a bit harsh with third parties. *^*
Yes, I was State volunteer coordinator for Jill Stein in 2012, we need a real progressive leader!
I was harsh on all of them. The only third party that isn't right wing is the Whig party, besides the communist ones.
Jill Stein I believe is right wing in real life. She is not progressive. Either way, Jill Stein would make a good cabinet member, but not a good president.
You should add "Independent" to the list. I know it is not a party, but people can indeed run as independent.
That would ruin the poll. Independents never win, and everyone ALWAYS chooses the independent option. Its ruined many past polls.
The royalist tea party is not an actual registered group. Just a creation of a notorious idiot who frequented this site.
Comrade, I hope your being sarcastic, lol. This is Maoist socialism.
I was. :)
Discomfitting, liberals and libertarians are not the same. I was under the impression you were the former.
Have you idiots read Rand Paul's budget plan? No seriously? I might consider your votes legitimate if you had.
Didn't teddy roosevelt make the bull party?
Yes, he did. He abandoned the GOP to form a socialist progressive party, build on direct democracy and judicial reform.
Ive looked at rand pauls budget and i agree with it for the most part
That's the stupidest $hit I ever heard. So you agree with abolishing the department of education? Commerce? Alternative Energy? Increasing the military budget? People need to use their brains.
Your bias is painful Jif.
Thats why i said for the most part. I disagree on education.
Of course I'm biased. Its my opinion -_-. And its based off of facts and intellect, and considering your liberal as well....
What about the department of commerce, which adds a substantial amount of revenue each fiscal year?
His budget relies on no additional revenue streams, meaning he is planning on cutting half the programs in government until the debt lowers, which is pure stupidity. We rely on these programs to make the government work.
Its a good thing the democrats now control the vast majority of the population this year.
Oh, and that's not even the worst part. The worst part is how he would repeal the income tax. That pretty much accounts for 1.3 trillion dollars a fiscal year........ DO YOU KNOW HOW FUKING HARD IT IS TO MAKE THAT KIND OF MONEY
The libertarians would, in actuality, be repealing the economy of Cuba 15 times over.
We should repeal the income tax. We need a balanced budget and rand paul gets us there in 5 years. The government worked fine without all these programs but then the progressives decided to change everything.
@jif to be honest, i don't know what party or ideals i truly hold because I don't know all the types of ideals. I'm young and i haven't thought of all the parties and philosophies so I try to stay open minded. Slowly i find out what i don't support, but idk what party or philosophy I deem my own. Direct democracy, no victimless crimes, socialism are some of things i've found myself to support and capitalism, rand paul (and his father), conservatism to be things i don't support
You see the problem though. Rand paul wishes to abolish public education, decentralize government/keep the electoral college and senate relative to populace, pretty much screws any social policy, and hes extremely conservative. Judging everything you posted, you are certainly not a fan of Rand Paul (Anti-Homosexual), and it seems only one of these fools actually looked through this budget. Progressive politics seem more your nature. Not this extreme right loony.
Alright wise guy, WHY should we throw away 1.3 trillion dollars (Raising about .2 trillion next year)? What a reckless waste of money for something that doesn't help the economy at all. A progressive tax would nearly double this income as well.
Also, the government was in the biggest financial crisis before the income tax. Its what GOT us out of the depression. That's an indisputable fact, as the revenue stream was enough to lift most of the repressed out of poverty, and back into the workforce. The US was a failing economic power then.
Jif, I really don't think Republicans are going to be winning many presidential elections unless something drastic happens within their party that changes their ideology platform or they find something to exploit people into getting scared about. Our generation really isn't conservative or right wing, from my personal experiences with our generation, many are liberal or simply not conservative. Their ideology is fading and unless they change their views on things like gay marriage and their war on marijuana. I
Your right, as 2/3rd of Americans identify as a democrat or independent, and the majority of the younger demographic sides with the democratic party over the republicans. Makes me laugh as these libertarians try to justify the mini GOP.
