Who is right here?Posted by: Mister_Man
Girl attends a private school with rules on dress code and hair styles, and she decides to get a leopard-print haircut & dye. School kicks her out and her mom says that's a violation of her human rights, because she has a life outside of school, and her hair is part of her body. Who would you side with/who do you think is in the right? PIC REALTED.
The Mother is in the Right
The School Administration is in the Right
let her do what she wants damn when will schools stop regulating clothes and appearance
Its a private school. They have a right to regulate who they admit into it. If it were a public school, then this would be different. On a complete tangent thought, how is being kicked out of a school for having weird hair a violation of her "Human Rights"? I don't recall seeing that in the UN Universal Declaration of Human Rights.
Well, it IS a private school. If it were a public school and she got kicked out, I'd side with her.
No human rights are violated. They are given a choice in the matter ... conform or leave. Going to the school is not a human right ... so feeling you were forced to leave it due to the option they gave is not in fact infringing on any of your rights. Its a private institution, you have none. Go find another school where you can be a idiot with other idiots.
It's a private school. They have their own rules. The mother and daughter either read the rules and completely ignored/disregarded them, or didn't know the rules. Either way, it's the rules. That's like smoking weed in Utah and when you get caught and punished you whine and complain because you're allowed to in Colorado. It also isn't a f*cking "human right" to do your hair how you want, I hate it that people have latched on to that term recently.
It's a private school...
Private schools aren't bound to the same rules as public schools. If they have a dress code that they decided, then that's final. It's their rules, and she should've followed them.
Maybe read the rules next time.
Only because it is a private school...
It's their school, it's their rules. If you break them they have every reason to kick you out. That being said, I would probably be on the mom's side had this been a public school.
They abide by higher standards
If it was a PUBLIC school, then I would say the mother is right. It's called PRIVATE SCHOOL for a reason.
The school is legally right, but the mom is morally right
The mom was being a fool. She should have home schooled anyway. It would have been better education. Home school consists in a book, read from to finish, no worksheet left undone.
