  • There is no accountability in our federal bureaucracy and the people of this country have accepted that it is okay to turn the victims and whistleblowers of the waste, fraud, abuse and dereliction of duty into the demons with derogatory labels. It is a shut your mouth or pay dearly for doing "the right thing". When was the last time you saw someone fired for this. It does not happen. When was the last time you saw a whistle blower like the fast and furious ATF agent or the Secretary of State official who came forward get punished, demoted or fired for speaking out. It is par for the course.

Vets not getting the proper care and dying on arbitrary waiting lists, long lines and cover ups to prevent firings in the VA. Pay outs of Millions of dollars in Malpractice and misdiagnosis. List goes on that is just the tip of the Spear. GOOGLE it, but you wont cause its not a happy tail about day time TV or your favorite music artist or sports hero.

Speak it Brother, nicely said, SemperVI!
SemperVI says2014-05-22T09:32:53.8734720-05:00
@FearTheBeard1: Its not just that - these officials received bonuses based on cooked books that suggested the waiting lines were improving. One person got $8500.00 for only having reported 2400 people on the waiting list when in reality it was 28,000 people on the waiting list to see a doctor. Not to mention the suicide cover ups.
FearTheBeard1 says2014-05-22T09:33:12.1331775-05:00
Oh i am well aware of the deep troubling roots. There is a cancer in our society and it must be eradicated!
FearTheBeard1 says2014-05-22T09:34:47.1371775-05:00
Does not matter the facts given watch every Libtard say how it started under W, like that makes it okay that another president has not corrected action from 7 years ago!
SemperVI says2014-05-22T09:38:29.8583775-05:00
...And in 10 years they will still be blaming "W" or whoever the next republican president.
FearTheBeard1 says2014-05-22T09:38:58.1022720-05:00
Over 40 Vets documented dying unnecessarily on waiting lists, are you kidding me! Watch and see the ones who defend this scandal; they are going to have some jay carney type answers that will moronically be comical and senseless. It will Literally be lets kick the can down the road until next president comes into office!
SemperVI says2014-05-22T09:42:22.0721656-05:00
I am no republican but mark my words, if a republican is elected President, the miserable failure of Obamacare will be placed squarely on his or her shoulders. It will be a VA scandal on steroids and it will be the republicans fault. After all, its really not about fixing the problem, it is about blaming the opposition and getting reelected.
FearTheBeard1 says2014-05-22T09:42:22.3841636-05:00
I would Expect nothing less than to minimize this situation. It will literally be branded a "TeaParty" witch hunt. That the whistle blowers trying to expose this malpractice are paid by Tea Party affiliates. GEEEZ give me a break with this blame blame blame......Take some dang ownership already and solve a problem already!
FearTheBeard1 says2014-05-22T09:45:55.0823775-05:00
BLAH BLAH BLAH, GOP sucks and its always their fault no matter the facts, evidence or common sense presents. You check back into this page and watch every swinging person that hears a negative connotation about their beloved administration. Watch the labels they brand me with for even mentioning this sort of topic.

I doubt much will be said, most people today are pretty quite compared to two years ago. It is hard to win that battle when the writing is on the wall. This administration has lost all credibility even by many democrats just like Bush lost all credibility in his last term. The Obama admin is a lame duck... Unfortunately, he has plans to use executive orders to do whatever he likes regardless if he has congressional support. The radicals won't mind this because it is to there benefit. Others will try to defend it but most will alienate themselves from this train wreck and remain silent or focus on how wonderful the next candidate is. At the end of the day, none of them are serious about fixing this nations problems. The RNC and DNC will both make sure this will not happen and the drones will continue to drink the kool aid until the floor collapses beneath this weight and we are no longer a first world country. At that point, none of the nonsense we talk about on this site will matter. We will have to deal with real third world problems

^Sadly true, it may also resemble a Utopian society set up much like in Hunger Games. I Used a known movie for a reference what it could look like ,not that i think we will actually have gladiator styled entertainment!

On December 31, 2011 Obama signed the NDAA (National Defense Authorization Act). Section 1021 of this act allows for the President to detain anyone he wants, for any reason he wants, without a trial, without a lawyer, without ever seeing any family member again, to be held anywhere in the world, Indefinitely! And yes before all OB supporters bring up "W" had similar power during his administration, I DO NOT think any President regardless of their party affiliation should have this power. WAY too much power for one individual to have, but hey i am just a looney "conspiracy theorist"!!
FearTheBeard1 says2014-05-22T10:42:47.8148931-05:00
When you look at sections 1021 and 1022 of the National Defense Authorization Act objectively, they become scary in their potential. If the administration does try to use it to lock up American citizens without habeas corpus, the Supreme Court probably will void the incarceration and require a civilian trial. But in the normal course of events, vindicating one’s rights could take years.

The first inspection that cited multiple facilities engaging in this unethical behavior was in 2005. Think about that. This VA scandal encompasses the administrations of 2 U.S. Presidents -- one from each major party. It will be dealt with, but it will happen discreetly (especially in an election year). And it will probable not get every guilty individual. When both Dems & GOP are at fault, they always find a way to work together!
FearTheBeard1 says2014-05-23T11:14:14.9260630-05:00
@SweetTea, You are correct that this was not just this administration dropping the ball on veterans services, "W" and his former administration should be ashamed and held accountable for the part they played as well. The real 'KO' comes after this administration addressed the issue of long lines and knew facilities where reaching out to federal government trying to draw concern in 2011 before these issues became what they are known to the general public today. Seeing both sides of the Isle address this issue head on in this past week was confidence building that veterans are not just tossed to the side and discarded like trash after use. Regardless though, OUR own presidents inability to do nothing more than communicate that he is angry when he could have made personal visits to these sites and draw more awareness with his title than he has done. Well you are seeing the Dems jumping ship with this lame duck now are we not? When will it be considered absolute failure? Excuses do not bring back 40 dead veterans that COULD have been treated if not for the systems that failed them. Do you think that after seeing how Govt run health care facilities for our veterans can be do you really think the General Public will get the better care? Think about that! To me this absolutely stinks of putrid FAILURE of National health care ability to treat the masses effectively. Our veterans need treatment and they need the peace of mind they are not going to die trying to get health issues addressed. As a Mother and Wife whose family is full of veterans i would think this issue should be the smelling salts of reality and really hit home. YES the GOP is littered with issues and i give them no wiggle room on their shortcomings and failures. In a perfect Utopian fantasy world everyone holds hands and resolves issues perfectly. While in reality our Government no longer works for the people and proves once again they are widening the gap of trust the American people have. My words may have the essence of doom and gloom and i assure you that I do not have blinders on but a powerful perception of reality in today's world. In all sincerity i hope you have a wonderful Memorial day weekend and I hope dearly that all of your family members serving are out of harms way and able to enjoy some family time with you this weekend. Happy memorial day weekend and remember the fallen warriors who gave all.

Fearthebeard1 ... There are no excuses for either administration, in my humble opinion. I personally think this is far more scandalous than Benghazi, but I doubt any GOP will agree with me. A lot of doctors, members of the Medical community in general, are Republican. I wonder if that had any impact on Bush NOT addressing this issue? Was he afraid of ruffling their feathers? Of who might be implicated or guilty? Then, we come to Obama. I realize, he had a lot of serious things all at once. Sh*t happens! I also realize that if VA hospitals, administrators, etc. were "cooking the books" & falsifying documents ... It misled a lot of people including the President! But, for god sake, take names & kick a**es! It will not bring back the dead, but it will hold the guilty accountable! We take our finest resource -- young men & women -- then we treat them like crap. We use our veterans. We abuse them, if you think about it. Most companies in American could not or would not treat their employees like we treat those who defend us. That's pretty darn scary! A blessed, peaceful & delightful Memorial Weekend to you, too. You earned it!

@SweetTea: I appreciate your comments, I really do but you are either kidding yourself or deliberately ignoring the real issues. As you pointed out, this issued surface under the Bush admin 2nd term. It was apparent then that the VA was not doing it's job. In fact, President Obama even addressed this very issue in his campaign speeches. He pointed out all of these problems before being elected the first time. For you to say he was unaware is giving "your guy" a pass. You are part of the reason our politicians are allowed to kick the can. For you to imply this was not addressed because doctors and the medical industry is "Republican" is simply intellectually dishonest. The problem is, people like you are so desperately holding onto a notion that your party is doing right and the other party is to blame and source of all evil. You don't get it. You don't get what is staring you right in the face. What you believe in and hold closest to your heart no longer exists in Washington. It is gone - it has been gone for a very long time. The only difference between a democrat politician and a republican politician is the letter next to their name during an election cycle. This is about money, power and control. The US politician and bureaucrat is corrupt to the core. Our federal government is corrupt and will continue to be corrupt because they can rely their voting base is easily distracted.
SweetTea says2014-05-25T09:49:36.2121410-05:00
SemperVI ... I didn't say Obama was "unaware". I said he was misled. The administration counts on inspectors to examine procedure manuals, documents, accounts, etc. We now know that administrative officials were falsifying these to protect themselves. So, inspectors saw documents that "showed improvement". By the same token, this was being done on Wall Street prior to the 2008 crash. SEC regulators were being shown falsified documents. It took the actual fall of Lehman Bros. For the truth to finally come out. Bush was misled about the seriousness of the economy, until a Depression was possible. Hence, the bailouts. You say "People like me ..." Honey, you know precious little about me. I'm a registered Independent. At 54, I've only voted a straight ticket once in my life. So, I don't have "a party". I vote for candidates in both of the major parties! I'm not brainwashed by either. For you to assume politicians (or parties) will look the other way to protect supporters and members is grossly naïve. The fact the GOP is overflowing with those in the medical community -- specifically doctors -- makes this issue a conflict of interest for many. That's just the cold, hard truth. I've never been snowed by Washington. What you don't get is that government -- ANY form of government -- is driven by money & power. Those elected are torchbearers of that authority & expected to operate within the law. People are corrupt -- not government. The corrupt, at any level, should be removed & punished. Our Constitution specifies that we elect & who the people elect represent us. Upholding that idea is patriotism. Those who cannot are anarchists. And they need to move on. It's America & it's close enough to perfect for me! If you don't love it, then leave it! Http://legal-dictionary.Thefreedictionary.Com/conflict+of+interest
