William Wallace: Hero/patriot or terrorist/rebel?

  • In a way, I think he was both, just on the point of view of the person. in a way, you have to be a hero to rebel, I think that terrorist is a more extreme version of rebel, they are like that one friend that takes things to far

I suppose, it depends on who you ask. The British monarchy probably viewed him as a terrorist. Personally, I believe the term "rebel" best defines him. Terrorists want to inflict or cause terror. For over 200 years, that has been the sole motivation of terrorism (no matter which person or group does it). Anarchists believe that government & rules aren't necessary. William Wallace was neither. He rebelled against the tyranny that Scotland suffered under British rule. His goal wasn't to kill, or terrorize. Nor was he against government leadership.
