World Trade Center Attacks: An Inside Job?

Posted by: debate_power

Disclaimer: I'm just curious what people think about the attacks. I'm not saying I believe they were part of an inside job.

What do you mean by inside job?
Seido says2014-06-17T15:53:25.3576156-05:00
He means that the US government, or a portion of it, planned and carried it out. The commonly held belief is that a group of terrorists caused 9/11. A bunch of people don't believe that it was terrorists, and believe that the government itself planned and carried out 9/11. They're usually called "truthers"

The author can correct me if I'm wrong, but the most probable meaning of "inside job" is that the government allowed a "false-flag" operation by either allowing the attacks after discovering them, or actively involved themselves in planning the attacks and causing the destruction themselves.

@TrusmeImlying You'd be right. I mean a "false flag" operation comparable to the concept of "Operation Northwoods". Indeed, perhaps "Northwoods" was the reason for such prevalent doubt. Until I'm presented with unbiased evidence that 9/11 was an inside job I'll stick to the generally accepted notion.

Oh, there's little doubt that the government knew some stuff about the 9/11 attacks before they happened. I mean, George Bush got information about how they were planning to attack us. That's public information. But I'm not quite sure if they knew much more than there was going to be an attack, or that we were being threatened.

Debate_Power I'm gonna be honest, there's a lot of things that I can't remotely understand why people believe, but I'll respect them anyway. This is not one of those things. It's unbelievable how far people will bend the truth to try and convince themselves of the "evidence" for these types of events. And to make matters worse, they're typically arrogant in their ignorance. They not only *know* they are right, but I'm a close minded fool for relying on the logic and expertise of unbiased professionals, and applying my common sense. Both of which are poison to such theories. If I dare dissent from this view, I'm deemed a "sheeple" (ironically for challenging the herd) and have more than once been called a government agent, who's only job is to fight truthers in the youtube comments section. On very few topics would I direct my words beyond the discussion towards someone who believed this, but these people are crazypants ignorant at best, and harmful or potentially dangerous at worst.

@trustmeImlying Hey! Whoa. Did I say I believed those things? I'm certainly no government-basher and I try to live in a world of logic as opposed to a world of assumption and unwarranted, excessive emotion. I meet those people who do, day to day, EVERYWHERE, and I'm well aware that often they're just ignorant, arrogant, and cocky members of the common herd who claim to be adamant but are only slightly so as politics and events outside of their "bubble" are not their chief concern. I said, I currently believe that 9/11 was NOT an inside job, which is the generally accepted view. I'm well aware that a certain perspective can be used in much the same way as a trick mirror to warp and distort facts. I try to steer well clear of the fiery, narrow-minded, impetuous, and thus highly dangerous masses, and rest assured I am a rational individual.

I mean, they knew it was coming and did nothing to stop it, so Americans would be willing to go to war for oil, but I don't believe Bush actively played a part.

I just have one problem with the "inside job theory." One, you need massive cooperation. 2. Innocent people dead.
mishapqueen says2014-06-17T17:13:34.8774617-05:00
Aren't those TWO problems? ;)

I would appreciate a 'Maybe' option, so I can look open-minded instead of looking like a crack-pot.

Hm. Good suggestion.

I suggest anyone in this chat to go to netflix and look up the documentary in plain sight. It notes the hole in the pentagon being too small for the dimensions of a 747, how the towers had bright instances of flashes right before impact. How the second plane looked like it had something on its belly, how aluminum cannot cut through reinforced steel like butter, and how WTC 7 was rigged to blow. To me the twin towers are hard to disprove, but the Pentagon, with 5 cameras being pointed in the direction of the "plane" and the hole being smaller... Also the WTC 7 being a perfectly demolition which would normally take hours to do.... See for yourself you can see the charges as they go off. Apparently it fell due to structural damage. Petrodollar as well being threatened by Iraq since they switched to selling their oil to euros instead of dollars, effectively lowering the artificial demand for dollars, and making it less valuable. Its the reason we have an 800 billion dollar military.... I can't disprove the planes, but what I can say is that the pentagon, and WTC 7 look very shady...
