Would an independent Scotland be a global player?Posted by: Kreakin
The SNP says Scotland would be in the EU and NATO. But would a small state with no military and which will refuse nuclear armed vessels access to ports have anything to offer the world's super powers?

No, and they don't need to be. It doesn't matter whether they have global influence, as long as the Scots have a free country and prosperity they don't need to care about the affairs of other nations.
It would take decades, if not centuries, for them to become a "global player".
unless they could find something to have the upper hand on bigger nations like America, U.K, Canada. It'll talk a long time before they're a "global player" because there's hundreds of nations.
