Would an independent Scotland be a global player?

Posted by: Kreakin

The SNP says Scotland would be in the EU and NATO. But would a small state with no military and which will refuse nuclear armed vessels access to ports have anything to offer the world's super powers?

  • Yes.

  • No.

  • No, and they don't need to be. It doesn't matter whether they have global influence, as long as the Scots have a free country and prosperity they don't need to care about the affairs of other nations.

  • It would take decades, if not centuries, for them to become a "global player".

  • unless they could find something to have the upper hand on bigger nations like America, U.K, Canada. It'll talk a long time before they're a "global player" because there's hundreds of nations.
