  • And most of the capitals too.

  • Easy as cake, I can also point to where each state is

  • I love geography. I know all the states with all the capitols.

  • Easy as pie...

  • I would take a while, but in the end, yes.

  • No problem. In olden days in the US, learning all the states and their capitals was part of grade school. In 4th grade we had to learn the provinces and major geographical features of Australia. I'm still not sure why.

  • I could do it and about half of the capitals. (Just not the abbreviations.)

  • I'm not American. They don't teach it at school here. I might be able to get a few names- no chance if it's about matching state name to a place.

  • I can't even name ten states

  • From the UK, can get only 16 straight off.

I tested myself and got the first 25 easily The next 24 took a while, but I could not for the life of me get the last one. I ended up using google and the answer was Vermont. Apologies to everyone from Vermont lol. I am an American though so of course I could do this. Would be more impressive if a non-American did so.

@Discipulus_Didicit I'm surprised the only state you forgot was Vermont and not Delaware.
TBR says2015-09-05T21:00:36.8666460Z
There was a gameshow sometime in the 90's that had an unlabeled map. They would show a highlighted state, and ask. I was consistently shocked.
Discipulus_Didicit says2015-09-05T23:21:57.3774079Z
@triangle lol Delaware was definitely one of them I had trouble with. I got it eventually though.

When you get into the Rhode Island, Vermont, New Hampshire block, you can be forgiven.

Ask any US student what the difference is between England, Great Britain and the UK and wait for the dumb expressions. Ask what a "Wales" is and you will get this. http://assets.worldwildlife.org/photos/1091/images/hero_small/whale-landing-hero_61029559.jpg?1345585596

To be honest, I had to look up the difference between the U.K and Great Britain. I knew the other ones though.

Let's try this: New York State, Mississippi, California, Northern Carolina, Louisiana, Hawaii, Alaska, Connecticut, Colorado, Washington State, Texas, New Jersey, Rhode Island, Iowa, Wyoming, Wisconsin, Alabama, Virginia, West Virginia, Arkansas, Ohio, Georgia, New Hampshire, Massachusetts, Pennsylvania, Maryland ... Nope, run out of states, failed. Very close to passing though.
Diqiucun_Cunmin says2015-09-06T00:31:36.6822358Z
You guys should try naming the provinces of China :P
TBR says2015-09-06T00:31:47.9301242Z
@Diqiucun_Cunmin - You are from Hong Kong right? You pass with flying colors.
tajshar2k says2015-09-06T00:35:25.5401038Z
I can name a couple cities. Shanghai, Beiling, Xinjping(spelt that wrong) Guanhong thats about it.
tajshar2k says2015-09-06T00:36:14.8061670Z
Hong Kong also.
triangle.128k says2015-09-06T00:46:51.0128592Z
You mean Beijing?
TBR says2015-09-06T00:48:15.0349978Z
Who will I piss-off calling it "Shanghai"
triangle.128k says2015-09-06T00:51:06.1038202Z
I can remember Inner Mongolia (is that a province?" Guangdong, Xiaoping, Unfree Tibet Shadong and Taiwan.
Diqiucun_Cunmin says2015-09-06T00:52:01.8128486Z
@TBR: Thanks :) *blushes* @tajshar2k: Beijing, Xinjiang and Guangdong, lol, but those are all correct. Guangdong is the only region that is a 'true' province, though all those you named are provincial-level subdivisions. Beijing and Shanghai are provincial-level cities, Xinjiang is an autonomous region and Hong Kong is a special administrative region.
Diqiucun_Cunmin says2015-09-06T00:54:25.0466312Z
@triangle.128k: Nei Mongol, like Xizang (Tibet), is an autonomous region, which is a provincial-level subdivision, so it's good. Not sure what you meant by Xiaoping though... That's Deng Xiaoping's name...
triangle.128k says2015-09-06T00:56:19.5372186Z
Shoot, I meant Xinjiang...
Foxian says2015-09-06T02:58:03.2601220Z
I've learned 26 states from these comments, thanks everyone.
TBR says2015-09-06T03:12:17.2708583Z
@Foxian - I am sure you can learn the states from a list, but it would be better to learn the about the states. I have lived in.. Lets see... Six of them. I can talk about Illinois (Chicago) California (Santa Barbara area) Colorado (Denver) best. Ask anything.
Em5206 says2019-10-18T20:52:34.3634167Z
No. I suck at the naming all the states. I’m American. That’s baaaad.
